Mundomedis Signs MoU with LaVie Medi-Care to Help Open US-Based, Large-Volume, Surgical Mask Production Facilty

Mundomedis, a specialized medical device incubator and growth accelerator based in Dubai, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with LaVie Medi-Care SE.

In 2022 LaVie Medi-Care will operate the largest manufacturing facility for surgical masks in Europe with a capacity soon exceeding 4 billion units per year.  The masks are produced on proprietary technology high speed machines, which can currently produce 800 masks per minute.

In cooperation with Mundomedis’ group company Tennessee Medical Innovations Inc. (TNMI), LaVie is planning to open up one of the largest US-based production facilities for surgical masks in the US, targeting a production capacity of 4 billion masks per year initially.

Through LaVie’s proprietary high speed automated production process the company will be able to provide surgical masks at a cost that is comparable to masks being produced in China.

Guido Arnold, Chairman of LaVie said, “Through our partnership with Mundomedis and TNMI we are confident that we can accelerate our production build-up in the US, and we aim to go to market in the second half of 2022.”

Kai Trompeter, CEO of Mundomedis and President of TNMI explained, “Through our partnership with LaVie we will achieve a major milestone to make the US market less dependent on imported personal protective equipment and we will be able to provide US hospitals with “Made in the USA”, top quality, products.”
